Drawing from Augustine, from church planters in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and from my own experience, I propose that the three central themes of mainline new church preaching are: hospitality, teaching, and prophetic proclamation. This thesis also breaks new ground by incorporating newcomers/seekers into the sermon formation process. Large membership church leaders explained their vision and other missional church characteristics via factors, as identified by Hunsberger and Van Gelder, which led their churches in Grace Presbytery to inter into partnerships. The intial receptiveness of Grace church leaders was assessed after a PowerPoint presentation via questionaire. Factors are documented that led churches to enter into partnerships. Their work, however, has not yet had a great impact on the Muslim sector of the population.  This study attempts to find solutions to this problem.  It consists of two surveys.  The first shows the attitudes and practices of the churches concerning church planting.  The second gives counsel from Muslim ministry workers on how to get the job done. This project focuses on the use of skilled efforts and varying strategies employed by church officers of Compassionate Christian Ministries, a new church, to encourage growth in membership, deepening commitment, spiritual maturity and discipleship.  An action research program was designed for officers of the church.  The program incorporated theoretical aspects as well as practical examples.
