A qualitative study was conducted using grounded theory. Interviews with church planting experts, church planters, and an online survey were the primary data sources. The online survey helped triangulate the data and provided a quantitative element to the research. This research found that relational connectedness was critical to people hearing, connecting, and staying in a new church. The poject director enlisted volunteers who expressed a desire to lead short-term mission projects to participate in the training. The participants developed a proposed short-term mission project which will take place in the next two years based on the content of the training. Dr. Mike Edens and an international missionary evaluated the validity of the research. Dr. Sonia Carrington provided expert advice and a critique of the curriculum and the project director's increased knowledge of curriculum design.
