Leaders who participated in a thirteen-week small group used the Renovation of the heart curriculum by Dallas Willard. The participants completed pre and post-assessment surveys to ascertain whether the small group impacted the leaders and whether the goals of the project were met. The method of study was qualitative, using a small group structure of four pastors in the United Methodist tradition.  It applied the use of interview, journal, and questionnaire.  The results showed a marked improvement in the perceived awareness of one's felt presence with God. Teaching of God's word, experiential activities, and inner healing prayer encounters had a substantial impact upon the spiritual well-being of the participants.  These results showed a positive effect upon the participants' false beliefs and emotional wounds. In keeping with the equipping program model, the project began with the project director's research in the field of team leadership. The research focused upon ways in which personality type and spiritual giftedness may be understood and applied in the context of church staff leadership. Upon completion of this research, the project director developed curriculum based upon findings from the research. The support group consisted of eight weekly sessions with homework assignments drawn from CR material, Hart's book, and daily devotionals. The key conclusion of the project was that depressed Christian men can be aided significantly through an integrated, Bible-based support group. The Internet fellowship shared prayer, Bible reading, homilies, confession, intercession, and personal triumphs and defeats.  The group split into two about halfway through its ten-year existence, but the successor groups care about one another and share the on-line culture described above.  Is this a church in cyberspace?  The author tests the shape and interactions of the Internet group against several definitions of church and concludes that while they are not an Internet church, the groups serve their members as do pietistic groups, such as Wesleyan societies, within the larger church.
