This project begins with a summary of the challenges faced by megachurch pastors. A chapter of biblical and historical considerations provides background material on the value of team ministry. Case studies reveal lessons learned through interviews, surveys, and onsite visits at churches that have incorporated a team-preaching model. The study examined the relationship to authenticity of God's self-revelation, of personal awareness, the context of the small group as an emotional system, and self-differentiated leadership. Groups of young adults participated in a mission-biased experiential curriculum over 16 weeks. Nineteen groups were located in nine cities around the U.S. Quantitative research was done before and after the indepth interviews were done after the sixteen weeks, in order to assess participants' experience of community. The primary focus of the class leaders is collecting money and attending to the physical well-being of their members in a limited capacity.  According to the general rules written by Wesley, attention should also be given to the 'means of grace,' or the practice of spiritual disciplines.  Doing so would significantly shape the lives of the members in their spiritual formation.  The researcher used pre and post surveys, lectures and small group process to gether, disseminate and integrate information respectively.  Readings in the areas of Wesley's class leader system and the spiritual disciplines were used to gain knowledge. The research project concluded that when persons were given tools and were intentional about learning and practicing the 'means of grace,' their spiritual journey was enhanced. The project director developed a training class using resources suggested by Bill Donahue and Randall Neighbour.  The nine didactic sessions written led participants into a greater evaluation and understanding of the components of group health.  The sessions included the vision and values of Faith Promise Church, spiritual leadership, the stages of group life, analysis of the five purpose model of groups (worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism), and a review of the ultimate goal of group life: multiplication. A daily devotional journal related to each Sunday's teaching was given to participants. Sunday's theme and message centered on a truth about worship and were reinforced in small group studies.
