He preached six sermons, led six dig deeper sessions, and a Lord's Supper celebration.  The projector director used congregational questionnaires and response forms for research and evaluation. The project director located couples via personal contact, Internet searches, and inquiries through denominational agencies. The database which the director created for the network contains the names of 28 couples who share the pastoral responsibilities of a local church, and an additional 31 couples who have expressed an interest in this form of ministry. A framework for leadership development was established through an overview of biblical and church history and an examination of current leadership development trends. Intervention consisted of a series of sermons, 'Nehemiah on leadership,' and a small group study on 'The measure of a man' by Gene Getz. Analyses were performed to determine their effectiveness. The basic premise of the project is that although spiritual growth, or life transformation, is something only God produces, there is a definite role that individuals play as recipients of God's grace. Although spiritual growth is a process, it also requires intentional effort on the part of the believer. The Apostle Paul indicates the need for this kind of balance when he says, 'Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose' (Philippians 2:12-13). This pilot project involves offering a discipleship class called The Spiritual Exploration Class. The class challenges participants to identify a spiritual growth edge in their lives. Then, within the context of a small group and together with a spiritual director, each participant develops a personal spiritual growth plan to give focus to his or her efforts. The project essentially serves as a catalyst to move a person toward spiritual growth. The success of the pilot project is measured against the stated objectives of the project for the purpose of improving future programming. Twelve adult participants completed the twelve-week leadership training program that was primarily developed from the meta-model.  A battery of instruments was used to assess the effectiveness of the program and skills acquired by the participants. The consultant assists local pastors in Lancaster, South Carolina, to develop a team ministry approach within each fellowship. Chapter 2 shows a biblical basis for a team ministry. This chapter builds upon the Old Testament ministry of Elijah, Moses, Jethro, and the New Testament teachings of Jesus and the Apostle Paul. Chapter 3 is based upon team development as it is developed in the business world. Attention is given to how the business world succeeds in the development of teams. Chapter 4 is the consultant's project for helping pastors develop a team ministry within their congregations. 'A Path for Team Development' was created by the consultant to accomplish this task. Chapter 5 concludes with an analysis of the project. this chapter is an evaluation of the successes and failures for each church in the study. Called EAGLE Forums, these monthly sessions would focus on personal and professional development in the areas of leadership, conflict management, and accountability. Participants in the training surveyed and contrasted current leadership styles in business and churches in order to lead their small groups to identify and improve their approach to pastoral leadership. Church conflict issues and the biblical response to conflict were investigated and addressed. The author studied the small group methodology by establishing a small group movement within the congregation using the elements of maintenance and mission. Maintenance activities include fellowship, education, and worship, which edify the members. Mission activities include evangelism, local and global outreach, and ecumenism for sharing the gospel with non-members.
