She formed a study group, stressed the importance of congregational fellowship, and taught about spiritual gifts. The group remained open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, took an inventory, and sought to use their gifts in the community. The class completed an evaluation and the author developed a gifts guide. A pretest and posttest assessed the level of well-being and the variety of active connections. The paired samples t-test lacked statistical significance. Ethnographic interviews assessed the change in personal connection and a reflection paper assessed a participant's motivation to extend this ministry. My project brought together six men in ten weekly sessions to train them in and practice of spiritually reading the Bible. Participants received training and encouragement to select their personal peer group during an initial orientation seminar and were equipped to engage their peer groups in twelve subsequent weekly meetings. In-depth interviews were conducted with 25 members of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) located in Crookston, Minnesota. The two topics of hearing the voice of God in community and consensus-based decision-making were explored. An action plan for the future ministry of the church was developed. The project involved research in the general field of discipleship and in triad of quad disciple-making. The project director developed lesson plans and led the equipping seminars. An average of forty-six adults participated in the seminars. Seminar participants evaluated their spiritual awareness through the use of a pre-seminar assessment and then at the end of the equipping seminar participants took the same assessment. Results of pre- and post- assessment were compared.
