Most church planting ministries seek to establish mature churches that are autonomous. However, some are maintaining a relationship with daughter churches, exercising control over them as 'one church meeting in several locations'.  This phenomenon has been called a branch church or satellite church ministry.  This project examines the ministries of three influential Baptist churches that are involved in satellite church ministry. This is intriguing in the light of Baptist polity and the missiological principle of indigeneity.  The project is an attempt to discern the extent to which this method of ministry is transferrable for larger churches with metropolitan ministries.  Is it possible that the unity of a particular church may be maintained though the church meets in multiple locations? The pastor and session proposed a hypothesis which was that the establishment of a positive sense of self-worth, which would come about as a result of better self-understanding, agreement of purpose and setting of goals, would reverse the decline.  The hypothesis was measured by surveys. Visible increased activity was noted as was a stronger financial picture, as well. Individuals discovered the unique needs of their congregation through guided lectures and brainstorming sessions utilizing historical, personal and biblical resources.  They then defined biblical understandings of New Testament church growth.  From this they developed strategies for growth that addressed their specific needs, and embraced these biblical insights.  The growth process, thus defined, involved and equipped participants for service in their respective congregations. Each of these groups implemented one or more church growth programs during this ten-year period. The study of these groups showed strengths and weaknesses which are reflected in the projected four-year plan of church growth for the Free Methodists. Part I covers the development of Christianity in the Philippines beginning with the Spanish entrance in 1517 and continuing through World War II; part II gives an in-depth study of the development of the Free Methodist Church in the Philippines; part III studied the individual church growth programs of other related denominations; and part IV compares the different strategies and assimilates their strengths into a workable program of church growth for the Free Methodist Church in the Philippines. Church planting is the New Testament answer for the evangelization of the country.  Various current approaches to church planting strategy are recognized. Special attention is given to management principles and how they can be applied to church planting.  The setting of essential goals is discussed in the framework of a PERT system (Program Evaluation and Review Technique). The project is structured to gradually develop this PERT system, step by step, beginning with spiritual awakening in a local church.  The PERT plan presented here consists of four networks or chains of goals called events.  Each of these networks moves toward a major goal in the plan. The text seeks to carefully explain each activity necessary in order to reach the following goal or event in the chain. Sixty-one percent of the congregation par ticipated in the project, resulting in a 7 percent increase in commitment of time and a 12 percent increase in monetary pledges.
