An historical methodology was used for understanding The Gospel Association of India churches perspectives on discipleship. Focus groups and personal interview methodology were used to understand the perspectives on Christian discipleship among Christians in The Gospel Association of India.I explored the many themes that provided the basis of discipleship in the Old and New Testaments. God’s people in the Old Testament underwent discipleship with God as their teacher and Israel as the disciple through God’s covenant, God’s election, and encountering God collectively and individually. The New Testament provides an abundant basis for discipleship. We can become true disciples by following Jesus, being obedient to his teaching. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, we can be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, which is the goal of discipleship.As the original disciples impacted their world by following their master, Christians in The Gospel Association of India can impact their world by living as true disciples of Jesus Christ. Christianity surged in the area unprecedentedly, following various miracles and healings. As persecution increased, the church grew, and the reason was the relentless prayer and faithfulness of the children of God. This is an encouraging example to all the suffering Christians in India and throughout the globe. In the face of severe persecution and other internal and external challenges facing the church in Arunachal Pradesh, it is absolutely vital that pastors, leaders and believers in churches be strengthened and rooted in the Word of God, effectively to bring growth in order to have biblically sound congregations. The series of Inductive Bible Study will empower Christians to withstand these challenges with the power of the Holy Spirit.A workshop “How to Study the Bible Effectively” was conducted in the Pasighat of East Siang District, A.P. The study facilitated learning tools to interpret the Bible inductively, to explore means to conduct an in-depth study especially in mission fields where literary resources are not readily available. The purpose of this study was to develop and sharpen the theological understanding for enrichment in biblical studies and to provide opportunity for ministry enhancement to pastors, evangelists and lay leaders in the SAF Mt Carmel Prayer Center, Pasighat, East Siang district. To help address these concerns, a leadership retreat was designed and implemented that used Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as a process to help the leadership team develop a clear vision for outreach to the community of Oakville. There were seven leaders who participated, and the outcomes of the retreat were analyzed. The project was aimed at facilitating the development of leadership team vision for the residents living in this community. Using AI processes, the leadership team looked at the vision for the Oakville community, developed a vision statement and committed to designing ways to serve the community needs. Pastoral Epistles","Church renewal"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project focuses on the best practices of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) as it seeks to support the replanting or reestablishment of local churches that are considered “dying” because of their unsustainability and inevitably will close. The project thesis is that replants that implement these best practices have more conversions, more growth, and a higher survivability rate than those that do not. Both best practices of replanted churches and denominations that support them were identified in this study. The field work was completed using qualitative research methodology through a series of interviews, surveys, and document review.  Ten best practices of replanted churches were identified. (1) Replant pastor develops pastoral skills before replanting. (2) The church has a disciple making emphasis. (3) The pastor models evangelism. (4) The church serves the community. (5) The church prays evangelistically. (6) The church uses a holistic approach to evangelism training. (7) The church has evangelistic worship services. (8) The church has a vibrant small group ministry. (9) The church has a Connections Ministry Team. (10) The church is committed to Children’s Ministry.Ten best practices of denominations were identified. (1) Clear distinctions between revitalization, replanting, and church planting. (2) Denominational staff designated for replanting. (3) There is a vision for replanting. (4) A clear process for replanting is developed. (5) The denomination adapts and modifies church planting systems for replanting. (6) The church has a replanting residency. (7) There is an assessment process for dying churches. (8) Interim pastors are utilized in the replanting process. (9) An oversight board oversees the replanting efforts.
