This project determines the value of these principles by reviewing and summarizing some theologians, including those of the Wesleyan or Nazarene tradition, identifying and evaluating the contributing factors, and determining by a case study of local Nazarene churches the value of church growth and decline principles. Using descriptive research, the author produced a handbook after examining related literature; specialized systems; philosophical, biblical, and theological principles; fieldwork; and a project utilizing a 'systems approach'.  A 'systems approach', using consensus decision making and value enhancement techniques, improves a project group's 'up-thinking', self-esteem and willingness to improve the environment. The research was done via questionnaires and a personal visit to each church by the author.  It revealed that there were growing Baptist churches in all four states.  Fifteen characteristics were readily acknowledged as significant in these churches and their growth.
