Chapter two reviews the biblical and theological principles of prayer in the Old and New Testament. I also discuss what occurs when God's people fail to pray, the resulting rebellion, and failure to accomplish the Great Commission. Chapter three examines four churches involved in prayer ministries and the evangelistic growth of each church. Chapter three also deals with a historical review of what God has done through the prayers of his people. Chapter four is a discussion of the project, and the materials used in training intercessors to develop an intercessory prayer strategy that results in evangelistic growth. The first half deals with the theoretical aspects. Biblical foundations for administration and leadership management are explored. Then, the author illustrates how church management is related to church growth. The second half deals with proxis. Using scriptures as the guide and TLBC as a test case, the author traces the development of TLBC in its 17-year history. He analyses the present organizational structure of the church and proposes refined departmental guidelines, human resource policies, and meeting agendas and processes. His objective is to put together his analysis into a church administration manual for TLBC."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["54e7729a-4915-469f-8fd5-c7bb7ccd6c20"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134539519623168,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:36:47.568Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:48:01Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e5920617-f7ae-4b9e-9e28-d51ec127e799","accessControl_ssim":["8165fffc-fe3f-4646-8695-fe256efc156f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["In our past is our future: using the collective stories and memories of a congregation to promote a period of growth in the small church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:39:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:41:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ccde7f1f-fd30-45ad-b92e-95d2f221cc74"],"hasLease_ssim":["17b36961-4519-4d4a-9bd2-bf6691c00a62"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Susan L Nelson"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Wayne C Chasney"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["By listening closely to the stories and shared memories of a small congregation, a church leader can discover what the church does well and, by utilizing those strengths in the present context, promote a period of growth in ministry and mission. Prior to my arrival, the church leadership had decided to embark upon a period of strategic planning in order to evaluate its ministries and set future direction. The church leadership and I decided to work together in a collaborative strategic planning process, which we termed ReVision, to improve church health and stimulate church growth. We decided to use the approach to church life and health called Natural Church Development (NCD) as the primary model and description of church health. The project at Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church involved the administration of the NCD survey on three occasions--before my arrival as the new senior pastor and the commencement of the strategic planning process, three months after my arrival and still before the formal commencement of the strategic planning process, and eighteen months after my arrival, which was fifteen months into the strategic planning process. Following the release of the results of the third NCD survey, the members of the ReVision Taskforce were given a survey containing four open-ended questions intended to allow them to reflect on the planning process and the congregation's health changes. The quantitative data from the NCD surveys and the qualitative data from the final survey led to the conclusion that the arrival of a new senior pastor and the strategic planning process had been influential in improving the congregation's health and stimulating church growth."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134711007936513,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:39:31.112Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:32:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:49:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a46c67df-8f5c-45dd-9c62-4970c5e57d2f","accessControl_ssim":["664bf9a8-c5c5-43b7-97b8-6dad822d1905"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Venturing beyond the home: an experiment in contemporary outposting by a particular church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:32:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:54:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["23853a56-c42d-4d7a-ab74-09ac039c17bd"],"hasLease_ssim":["ce711008-a2e1-4aab-b1a7-a57e14a8da33"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Clarence D Weaver","John R Hendrick"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James Roger Miles"],"publisher_tesim":["Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project proposes to answer the question, 'Can an outpost begin with an identifiable 'target group' on a shoestring budge using a cadre of elders as leaders and/or enablers to establish a worshipping community?'
