Insofar as possible, the effectiveness of the divorce recovery program known as Fresh Start Australia Pty. Ltd. was evaluated. The thesis includes a study of the high rate of divorce, the social impact of the disintegration of the family and the perceived failure of the church to address this problem. The writer seeks to encourage and endorse marriage and contrast the benefits to direct and collateral damage done by divorce. Insofar as possible, the writer examined the biblical role of marriage, divorce and re-marriage throughout biblical and contemporary times. One of the chief values of history is entertainment.  It is fascinating to learn about the people of the past.  We enjoy listening, seeing and reading about what happened in the past.  It is my hope that people who read this thesis will be captivated by the story of the lives of the early circuit riders.  History can also be the source of inspiration.  As we learn more about those who created the heritage of which we are heirs, we may be inspired to give thanks for their lives, and we may pledge to follow their example.  We know that history's real importance is that it helps us understand who we are.  It is a clue to our own identity.  By reflecting on the past, we can better understand who we are and determine who the future direction of our ministry. This thesis will be a resource in teaching students in confirmation classes and to groups in the church who need to know about their rich United Methodist Heritage. The author combines practical suggestions for contextual preaching with perspectives from theological, missiological, biblical, and cultural studies. He claims that preaching is more effective when it is rooted in the context of the audience. The author illustrates this claim by analyzing four sermon samples, which embody some aspects of the religio-cultural ethos and communication forms of the Yoruba. It is written from the perspective that this integration was seen by Murray as consistent with the divine pattern, and that it is the key to understanding the essence of the man and his ministry. The work begins with a brief biographical sketch of Murray's life and career, followed by a survey of the biblical-theological foundation on which his commitment to keeping the two truths of revival and missions together was built. The project then explores Murray's understanding of the church's unhealthy condition, along with his description of what was necessary for her to be restored to health. The author examines the Diocese of Taita Taveta - geography, history and culture as well as the history of the Anglican Church and East African Revival. It presents church statistics from 1991-2000 and surveys three distinct groups of Anglicans: a- Anglicans (Waangilikana Damu), Irregular Anglicans (Waangilikana Jina) and Anglicans 'in diaspora'. Analysis indicates important pastoral factors to be addressed if growth is to be accelerated. Project presents theological reflection and pastoral response to the data.
