In a case study of 6 turnaround churches, the author identifies 4 common requirements for this to happen. A turnaround pastor will need to apply understanding -- knowing what the church is to do. He will need excellent listening skills, and a commitment to Jesus' lordship. A biblical foundation for revitalization, the project's context, and a strategy for revitalization through the Fan the Flame Event were detailed. Descriptions of presentation covered Congregational Dynamics, Effective Preaching, Excellent Worship, Missional Outreach, Spiritual Formation, Practical Evangelism, and Healing and Wholeness, all in relation to the Small Membership Church.
