Utilizing guidelines of clear, shared vision for ministry developed for this project, judicatory officials recommended target churches for participation.  Leadership from each congregation completed three research instruments. Results were used to establish a positive correlation between vision for ministry and the presence of higher morale, a future orientation and a higher level of concern for those outside the local church. This project monitored their progress for two years.  Then an analysis of this congregation's progress was made using three methods: written reports of church leadership, observations by the author, and the re-administering of the parish profile inventory. Among them is the church which has played a central role in the settlement of Korean immigrants in the United States. Currently, there are over 2,000 Korean-American churches in the United States. Unfortunately, this rapid growth in the number of Korean-American churches does not go hand in hand with the expected level of maturity in church life. Especially, active involvement of church members is not consistent from church to church.  This study takes an approach that development of active involvement of church members is one of the most important tasks of the ministry of pastors. A video tape tool was produced for elders to use with baptismal candidates or parents of infants, and field-tested.  Results: A video instrument can be an effective tool for member ministry in a video-oriented society, developing theological awareness and cohesiveness among church members. Drawing upon the theological and historical Lord's Supper/Communion interpretation and New Testament doctrine of 'the priesthood of believers' and Baptist doctrine of 'local church autonomy,' the author develops a successful ongoing lay homebound communion ministry which effectively promotes intergenerational congregational understanding and interaction.  Training in pastoral care and homebound communion ministry are developed, described and evaluated. This project gave a forum for writers in the Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association.  Of the pool of forty-three eligible churches and missions at the beginning of the project, nine participated.  While the project was designed to indicate success with eight participants, not only was this goal surpassed but others have indicated a desire to participate at a later time.  A journal was produced with editing at a later time.
