It was based on II Timothy 2:1-2, and the theology and methods of discipling used by Paul, the early church, and John Wesley's early Methodist class meetings. It incorporated learnings from Evangelism Explosion, Walk to Emmaus, and a previous discipling model.  Evaluation indicated that disciple-making contributed to personal growth in evangelism and discipleship. Through development of a mission statement, recruiting lay involvement in mission, and increasing financial giving to the congregation, the thesis was validated by results. There were also intentional efforts to increase the outreach proportion of spending.  The project uses case study approaches, looking at the efforts carried out within the target congregation. This model of the church comes from the gospel of Mark that presents Jesus as a servant.  If we are to fulfill the servant ministry of Jesus in the church, we need to use the laity to reach others.  The challenge is to get the congregation to understand the meaning of a servant church.  The conclusion of the research revealed a need to revamp the organizational structure of the church. Interventions in Anglican ritual that encourage a rethinking are used: gathering, study, prayer, table, and sending forth. As such, the church seeks to live and minister by an Anabaptist ecclesiology which understands faith being lived out in a community of equals.  Keeping this vision before God's people is the function of ministry for which all members are responsible.  This ministry can be of a salaried model, but the times are also calling the church to examine again the early Pauline vision of plural ministry whereby persons with gifts are called from the local context for specific purposes of service.  The key to any model of ministry is an understanding of leadership as non-hierarchical and inclusive. The most important conclusion reached in this research is that plural ministry is possible in the context of congregational life. In order to help lay people find God's will for their ministry a tool needs to be developed in order to enable the laity to better match their abilities and gifts to ministry opportunities.  The author researched the biblical material concerning God's call and spiritual gifts. The ministry opportunities at Green Acres Baptist Church were then studied, and which gifts matched which opportunities. The author then conducted a ministry discovery workshop to help lay people looking for ministry positions to find them. The senior pastor chose a team of five laypersons to help design an eight-week course based around a manual/workbook. Included is a theological study based on the biblical model of shepherding.  It also contains the social change theory needed to assist the congregants to accept a lay-pastoral care paradigm. The project measured the effectiveness of a potential solution.  The researcher designed and assessed a three-month procedure for training six lay 'ministry consultants' to be prepared to guide adult members of Faith Baptist Church through a course that teaches a process for identifying ministry niches that employ their spiritual resources.  Evaluation took place through a postseminar, objective examination, observation studies, and tape-recorded interviews.
