The project was a test of the 'triangle theory of church growth' which is based upon three interdependent and interrelated principles: spirituality, ministry, preaching/teaching.  These three principles were evaluated by a committee process in relation to selected biblical passages and the ministry context in question.  An outside evaluator analyzed the theory and the committee's work. Participants completed a grief workshop consisting of six two-hour sessions.  Pretest and posttest scores revealed limited yet substantial success. Different cultures constantly experience cross-cultural dynamics which challenge ministry to be sensitive to and reflective of the needs and concerns of cross-cultural society.  Therefore, the role of ministry in rapidly changing pastoral contexts should be reexamined continuously to be effective cross-culturally.  This project emerges out of a cross-cultural pastoral experience which provides tools and opportunities to discern critical issues in the ministry and to articulate a methodology for the ministry.  The project envisions and suggests how ministry can be cross-culturally whole. The evolution demonstrates a marked shift in meaning from the experience of the Apostles to the use of the terms in today's context.  The shifts are positive because they once again call the laity and the church community to mission and evangelization.  This project focuses especially on the role of the RCIA sponsor. Sponsors serve as examples of lay persons recognizing the call to mission and evangelization.  They are a group in need of formation in mission and evangelization.  The educational design for RCIA sponsors focuses on the role of the lay person and the community in mission and evangelization, and also provides an opportunity for the sponsors to experience the tie between their actions on behalf of the candidates as well as the action of the community. The research method was a nonrandomized select sample utilizing two control groups. The Palmore FAQ quiz and the Kogan scale were used to identify the presence and effects of ageism. A four-session equipping course was used to treat the group of senior adults.  The treated group was observed to determine whether they would become involved in church ministry after the treatment.
