An aging society challenges the church to be aware of the problems that face the elderly and to help alleviate those problems.  Our biblical faith and Christian heritage emphasize the importance of the laity in ministry. An extensive research of printed data and current programs leads to a pilot project of visitation by the author and a fifteen-member task group.  The main goal is to provide an avenue of care to the elderly of Central Church.  The project enables the laity to see the need for a shared ministry to the church's aged. The study is based on a Factor Analysis of 155 questionnaires, gathered from individuals who attend 12 UCC churches and one conference. It reveals that dual-paycheck families do not value any function of a church's ministry more than single-paycheck families.  It also reveals that the more one is involved in church activities, the more one values all church activities. The author examines the biblical and theological mandate for mission as this mandate applies to the Air Force chaplaincy.  He compares a variety of methodologies, including church growth materials.  The author concludes that the military chapel community is part of the body of Christ and has the obligation and opportunity to witness. The theory is tested in the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the state of New South Wales.  Data for the study is obtained by a mailed questionnaire and is analyzed with the SPSS-X.  Results indicate a strong trend toward conservatism/fundamentalism.  More conservative ministers experience the highest levels of conflict with laity and non-church people. It includes a critical, historical analysis of supervision within the Pentecostal context.  The author concludes that ministry supervision is undergirded by three confessional elements which legitimate Pentecostal ministry.  The three confessional elements which serve as an interpretive framework for the educational design of Pentecostal supervision are 1) supervision as covenant; 2) supervision as character; and 3) supervision as commission.
