The research of the project uses methods from the Congregational Studies Institute (July 3-13, 1984, Union Seminary, New York) in the areas of identity, context, program and process. It applies them to the author's ministerial setting. The second purpose of this project is to develop an outline of a five-year plan for mission and ministry which the leadership of the author's congregation could use to understand the church's changing socio-cultural environment. The research uncovers a mission orientation in the learned identity, context, program and process of the congregation. This mission orientation is described theologically as Christ's own ministry (through the mission of our congregation) to feed, restore and bring people into community."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Hartford Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8e52e4c8-38b6-4846-872d-a744b4f5725d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721566515232768,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:23:54.668Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:14:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:30:34Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0d503333-f864-439a-92b6-5276e9a12a01","accessControl_ssim":["94e12659-1592-4a22-bae8-ee64cdc631a7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Evangelism as liberation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:14:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:29:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["dd189110-3c77-494e-aa36-25d347d94a76"],"hasLease_ssim":["74f367e5-0aab-431e-9b58-85c668650b66"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["David Lowes Watson"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["George Mann Wilson"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Evangelistic work","Church work","Church growth","Church group work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project was to determine if small groups in extra-ecclesial settings could be used as a means of church growth within a small suburban church. For this reason ministerial training programs do not reflect a strong prophetic dimension. Rather, they show a strong bias toward the priestly perspective. Effective team ministry requires methods for equipping, building and involving teams. This project outlines a biblical-theological perspective, surveys literature, describes lay ministry education programs and details the development of a team of lay ministers within a congregation. It concludes that there is no theological distinction between laity and clergy, that team building is the most important ingredient of team ministry and that teams provide a needed vision for the renewal of the church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717786898923520,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:23:50.145Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:12:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:24:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6c6218bf-0006-4582-8634-758262a060c2","accessControl_ssim":["1f959eb8-038c-493a-a994-1a440d6386ae"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The solidarity of the eucharistic community throughout the world"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:12:17Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:18:15Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6194754f-c26f-47c4-88b6-093df42ee1fc"],"hasLease_ssim":["a1c7d14e-a383-4a1f-b46c-428e83791102"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William B Oden"],"year_tesim":["1987"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Robert L Larsen"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work","Baptism, Eucharist, and ministry"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project covers the scriptural background of the Lord's Supper and its historical development in the Christian tradition. Eating together should give us a sense of solidarity with our sisters and brothers throughout the world and identify us with their sufferings and joys. The project contains recent Eucharistic liturgies, many of which are from Third World countries. The transient military congregation and the specifics of how the Sunderland model is adopted to it are discussed. Implications for chaplain usage are considered through three questionnaires. In a practical analysis, it compares the current program with the defined one. A proposed model encourages the interaction of professors and ministers on the flexibility of content and form.
