From a theological perspective, he concludes that the ministry is given to all believers at their baptism. The methodology of this thesis was the use of literature, interviews with laity and clergy, the personal observations and experiences of the writer, and a statistical survey of the Association of Christian Therapists. To help church members fulfill their Christian ministry a training program was developed covering the following resources: 1) needs of recent immigrant Koreans; 2) principles of pastoral care; 3) skills of pastoral care.  At the conclusion, lay-shepherds had taken responsibility for one another with skills and perspectives of pastoral care and expressed growth in personality and spirituality. Deacons and pastor-advisors in 119 Presbyterian churches were surveyed to discover organization and models of deacon ministry. Women's contemporary situation is described and history is surveyed to substantiate the need for empowerment. The significance of stories is examined from both theological and feminist points of view. Interfaith Ministries is a unique cooperative effort of 30 Christian congregations and one Jewish congregation.
