A historical analysis of the past twenty years revealed the rapid growth of Korean immigrants in America.  Such rapid growth caused extreme cultural shock and severe family crisis within the traditional Korean family system. The study concentrates on finding the basic needs of families by way of a community survey.  The findings of the survey resulted in the development of several possible responses a local church can make in meeting the needs of families. To reach out effectively it was discovered that people within the church needed to be equipped to do the work of ministry.
