This project questioned whether the Beulah Land Community Church could intervene and interrupt the cycles of destruction of a four-generation family. I propose that the theology of Black liberation is a good theoretical place to begin to think about how to achieve such a goal. Surveys went to clergy, and to inter-denominational families assessing the impact of denominational identity, prevalence, acceptance of inter-denominational families, the influence of congregational size, ministerial attitude, and individual family perceptions. Three findings resulted. First, participating inter-denominational families were long-time or life-time members of their faith communities. Second, inter-denominational families are present in most churches regardless of size or denomination, and they garner spiritual enrichment from all church communities in which they participate. This will shape the identity, mission, and life of the Christian congregations who do so. Through the use of an ethnographical approach, the project unearths the challenges of four families who are dealing the ASDs and posits that there are educational and faith based steps that Christian congregations can use to assist families similarly situated.
