This project aims to solve that problem by primarily using the three marks of the church as defined by historic Reformed creeds as the main criteria to consider when looking for a church. The guide gives an introduction to ecclesiology, assuming that most military personnel are unaware of this important doctrine. It evaluates a church group's usage of the study guide to produce a biblical mission statement. The results were mixed.  A mission statement from Acts 2 was not achieved. As 'baby boomers' reach the age when they might be expected to fill leadership roles in the church, the problems of the consumer culture attract new attention.  Baby boomers commonly do not recognize marks of a true church as historically understood in Presbyterian/Reformed churches. Basing the Church's identity on these marks, this project studies approaches of Presbyterian ministers who promote and preserve true churches, in order to present their ideas to the elders of Saint Philip Presbyterian Church of Houston, Texas. Work by John Lawyer and Neil Katz introduces creative listening skills for parish interviews.
