In this project, eighteen clergy from different denominations in the Greater Kanawha Valley in West Virginia participated in focus groups addressing questions selected by the moderator. Clergy members were encouraged to talk freely about their concerns and perspectives. Verbatim transcripts were generated from three focus-group discussions.  Quotes from clergy participants were grouped into thematic areas for the purpose of qualitative analysis. The strategy was designed by the project director after performing evaluations and surveys of the pastors, ministers of evangelism, ministers of education, and outreach directors.  The evaluations determined the level of evangelistic intentionality of the miniisterial staff and the church members. Demographies were overviewed to discover the people groups who reside in the communities surrounding the churches.  The responses from the evaluations and surveys were used by the director to determine the course of action needed by the churches to implement the NET. A qualitative research method was employed using surveys and in-depth interviews.  The researcher discovered that conflict situations exist, that participants have an understanding of conflict, and that they believe the church should be concerned about the issue of conflict.  Many participants have unresolved feelings where conflict situations are not engaged. Closer to home the priority of preaching slides in our churches amidst a culture sedated by information overload and anti-intellectualism. Moreover, missiologists report that where the church is exploding in African, Latin American and Asian continents, new converts are regularly enfolded into churches that are led by inadequately trained bi-vocational pastors. Significant kingdom gains are frequently undermined by weak theology in the pulpit and spurious teaching. The result is a weakened church. Good preaching is critical to the health and wellbeing of our churches. More specifically, it is expository preaching that best equips and sustains healthy, reproducing congregations. This project is my attempt to address this reality.
