There is a growing concern among both clergy and lay persons with regard to present processing of credentialing clergy persons. It addresses the question, how can the Church of God reformation movement meet the need of a more standardized preparation process for the ordination of both lay persons and clergy?  It observes that problems arise in both doctrine and practice since the polity of the Church of God is congregational and autonomous, and nonecclesiastical government a vital aspect of the Church of God heritage. The biblical model of conflict resolution between Aramaic-speaking and Greek-speaking Christians provided inspiration for the project.  A questionnaire was designed to survey and gather data on conflict management of Chinese-born and American-born Chinese church leaders.  Next, training sessions were developed with six areas of emphasis.  They were conducted at three Chinese churches in different geographical locations. They provided data which proved this hypothesis: given the opportunity, ELC-PNG ministers and administrators can realistically reflect their socio-religious situations, accurately describe their needs in ministry and thereby develop continuing education programs to meet those needs. Experienced ministers and recent ministerial graduates were interviewed regarding their experiences of being supervised during preordination education. A tour of Canada provided input and insight from pastors and theologians for the thesis that the contemporary renewal movement is an expression of the church's return to its New Testament roots.
