Using a qualitative method, caregivers shared their stories answering the question: What were the experiences of 'burnout' which contributed to developing codependent moments in your caregiving relations? Codependent moments are defined as those moments when the caregiver is disabled by the issues shared by the person seeking care. Implications for the church as a patriarchal institution are explored, with particular attention to the Anglican tradition.
