Young adult faith development, the prophetic possibilities of experiential education, and the archetypal quest for authentic spirituality inform an analysis of participants' reflections from five iterations of the course. A research questionnaire was designed and sent to seventy-six chaplains in schools with a religious affiliation. Fifty-one were returned.  Statistics and comments were derived from this survey and from contacts with school chaplains in England and the United States.  A plan for chaplaincy in an independent school or college is proposed. The project proposes that the chaplaincy would be greatly strengthened by doctoral studies in pastoral counseling. One hundred seventy-three faculty, students, staff, college Executive Committee members, trustees and members of the Council on Church Relations participated in discussion groups focused on a position paper written by the chaplain. The author examines the strengths and limitations of these models of ministry. Writings of current authors in the areas of feminism and spirituality inform the project. Recommendations for campus planning are made in three areas: worship, religious group life, campus-wide concerns.
