Each unit contains a group discussion guide. The first three study units present a biblical perspective on diversity of opinion in the church. Unit one is an investigation of diversity in the New Testament church designed to demonstrate that a romanticized conception of the early years of the Christian era as a time of uncomplicated unity and undisturbed unanimity of opinion is inconsistent with the testimony of the biblical material. Unit two is an examination of New Testament unity 'in Christ.' Unit three is a presentation of the strategies, attitudes, and skills necessary to promote the celebration of diversity of opinion in the local church. The second set of three study units presents a psychological explanation for diversity in the church based on the personality type theory of Carl G. Jung. Unit four contains an introduction to Jung and his type theory, style, and religious attitude. Unit five is a detailed explication of psychological type. Unit six offers descriptions of the sixteen psychological types isolated by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The final three study units present applications of psychological type theory to three areas of significant diversity in the church. Unit seven addresses differences in worship and prayer styles. Unit eight investigates different approaches to biblical interpretation. Unit nine describes different concepts of ministry according to a four part Sloat-Bailey ministry gird and demonstrates a correspondence between these divisions and the functions of type theory."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135721698885632,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:55:34.982Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:19:51Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:14:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e5c20676-d2e6-40a0-bf8a-9e01c2f30b9f","accessControl_ssim":["2230e1c0-d57a-4004-b859-0b44122a7300"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping church leadership in developing conflict management skills"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:19:50Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:42:13Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d4a014f2-5108-470a-bde0-77434912a2c1"],"hasLease_ssim":["bb6acf8f-9d00-4f61-80ed-8a98c0be6136"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William M Tillman"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Leonard D Molone"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Conflict management"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The design of the project is to equip church leadership in developing conflict management skills. While many of the existing models of intervention are useful and worthwhile, this thesis will suggest that certain key ingredients are sometimes avoided or neglected in an attempt to move quickly toward a satisfactory resolution of a problem. Effective problem solving, especially when dealing with a difficult person, cannot always be reduced to a simple step-by-step approach. The purpose of this thesis will be to explore and present another option for dealing with the presence of a difficult person that is both biblical and practical. These guidelines and principles have been taken from a number of biblical passages, and applied to a variety of concerns that face the pastor/leader on a daily basis in the pastoral ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129878928556032,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:22:42.882Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:08:25Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-12-18T18:51:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4f6ddb45-e91b-42f1-85f8-6f9c79ebbfd1","accessControl_ssim":["ffc66e66-b4e6-477c-9f66-c3aca29af6e1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Process conflict resolution: an educational group process combining object relations family and family systems theory"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:08:24Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-12-18T18:45:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["10c781b9-873f-4aff-a60d-f4c168338c96"],"hasLease_ssim":["e61f1df1-cdf0-455d-a183-75e562e03f01"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"additional_rights_info_tesim":["Donald Freeman"],"degree_tesim":["DMin"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lancaster Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"video_embed_tesim":[""],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Some churches today are experiencing decline which can be partly ascribed to the unresolved conflicts within the church. When conflict does occur, lay and clergy leaders do not have the training to deal with conflict and therefore react quickly and ineffectively. The project presents a case study in which one church in conflict participated in the study and educational events which taught some basic components of conflict management: conflict occurs in God's family; conflict can be a positive influence and opportunity for renewal; and, conflict signals a brokenness in relationship which needs to be reconciled just as Christ reconciled the world to himself. The conclusion drawn from this project is that with training and education, people's ideas about anger and conflict can change, thereby facilitating a constructive conflict management process."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717413209505792,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:17:53.767Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
