The reason for devising the titled plan and a description of the plan itself follow. Six classes (outlined in the dissertation) were held to teach caring skills to separate groups of church officers and lay members, using biblical 'caring' passages, psychological principles, understanding problems of the dying, the grief cycle, etc.  The writer's evaluation of the program, determined through individual interviews with each trainee after completion of the classes, as well as evaluation of the program's effect on the writer's own ministry are included. The model is a synthesis of Christian theological and dynamic interpersonal psychological perspectives.  Called 'Covenant Partnership,' the model is shaped by the values of love, justice and mutuality.  The model was used in two seminars for couples over a ten-week period. The first chapter defines the Word of God for three key Reformed Theologians: John Calvin, the Westminster Divines, and Karl Barth.  These definitions are then connected to how they understand the covenant relationship between God and humanity.  Covenant relationship is then related to the essential elements of Reformed worship.
