This is encouraging for further study with spiritual directors and their perception of dreams.  This study explores the incubated dreams of current students and graduates of Audire: The Central Florida Foundation for Spiritual Direction.  Participants incubated a dream about their work as spiritual directors and were interviewed using the Gayle Delaney method to assist in dream interpretation. Jung's dream analysis methods to unfold Jesus' parables in ways that encourage emotional and spiritual healing for parishioners in a pastoral counseling setting.  Three aspects of Jung's dream analysis -- amplification, compensation, and context -- provided the framework for the creation of the Dreaming Parables Guide.  The method of study followed a Sunday morning adult Bible class for eight weeks using the guide to explore Jesus' parables. The practicum/project takes seriously the historical documentation of the relevance of dreams.  The method of Jungian dream analysis was used with the small groups. This method of analysis allowed the participants to develop a process to understand their dreams and to relate the dream to their spirituality.  The practicum was conducted over a six-week period of time.  Forty-one participants were enrolled in three dream analysis classes.  The participants were from a United Methodist Church and a retirement center in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Each group met with the pastor weekly for a 1-hour dream analysis session. These 3 groups were separated into distinct age-groups: ages 20-45, 46-69, 70-90.  A dream notebook was kept by each participant. This practicum/project has established the importance of understanding dreams as a revelatory event. It was applied to narratives collected from three groups discussing dreams and two groups discussing religious concerns at two nursing homes. It proved to be consistently useful in opening both dreams and biblical narratives to discussion and interpretation.
