Is there any correlation between what is discussed on the wider levels and what occurs on the local level?  Utilizing four years of ministry in a 'union church' setting and two existent studies of local ecumenism, the author tested ecumenical models to gauge their impact on the local level.  He concludes local ecumenical efforts must eventually involve the theological content of national and international dialogues if local congregations are to approach the kind of unity our Lord desires. The project also explores the problems and issues facing Korean churches from the social science and missiological perspectives.  The project demonstrates the emerging issues of ecumenical debate in Korea through an analysis of the background theological literatures published by local members of the World Council of Churches.
