The purpose of the project was to change attitudes, so church members would willingly include more people in the future. Two sermon series (self-differentiation; sacrificial inclusion) were preached over 12 weeks, with pretests and posttests measuring participants' attitudes toward this change. Responses to both were positive. It explores characteristics of postmodernity and how the sacrament connects with the contemporary cultural and societal milieu. Young Black adults are not just looking for sound biblical preaching; rather, they are in search of sound biblical preaching that is both creative and grounded in practical wisdom. How can Emergent Church preaching inform Black preaching?  Four sermons by four preachers were analyzed using Haddon Robinson's analysis. Then three Black pastors of Richmond, Virginia, were interviewed to receive feedback. The projected director conducted research through means of an annotated bibliography of recommended books by academicians and from other professionals in the field of church growth ministry.  The project director had an expert in the field of curriculum development tutor him in curriculum development and evaluate his lesson plans.  Once tutoring had taken place, the project director developed a workshop consisting of six ninety-minute sessions.  The project director led these sessions for the selected group of First Baptist Church, Pontotoc, for the purpose of equipping them to implement the seeker-sensitive service. A review of literature in postmodern and emerging church ministry, in communication and learning theory, and in contemporary homiletics is compared with biblical evidence about the roles and purposes of illustrations in preaching.  A survey of pastors is conducted to discover homiletical, technical, and theological guidelines for the use of video clips in sermons. The culture and challenge of the new paradigm church is explored through historical influences.  The theological framework is the theology of theosis as expressed in transcendence and beauty.  Jerome Berryman's model for children's worship (Godly play) shows how through creativity and play children experience spirituality as transcendence and awe. The methodology of this technique will be transferred to adult ministry.
