The content focus of the curriculum was on core longings (the blessings of God) and emotional healing. At the conclusion of the nine week curriculum, the participants completed a post assessment questionnaire to measure their increased understanding and awareness of core longings. Participants were seven adults from Good Tree Christian Fellowship who experienced an offense leading to negative emotions. The Enright Forgiveness Inventory measured changes in participants' affect, behavior, and cognition towards an offender. All participants showed growth in each domain with a group average of 26.7% in affect, 10.0% in behavior, and 8.3% in cognition. The downside of this newfound affluence and status-consciousness is that a key component of why we gather together to worship has been lost.  For blacks worship is a corporate act of pastoral care.  Because of the subjugation and disenfranchisement of the race black Americans still need to 'shout' in church.  There is peril in restricting the natural emotive range of expression in the worship setting.
