It was hoped that the researcher's interactions with pastors, church leaders, and Christian social ministries in Cameroon would reveal the extent of practical ministries on behalf of the poor. Almost all the pastors and church leaders sampled knew these problems were extensive but they were not involved in programs or personal assistance for widows, orphans, or social outcasts who attend services with them on Sundays. Gender distinction distinguishes Christian marriage, but its impact on emotional intimacy, critical in contemporary marriage, is under-studied. A qualitative study of ten Christian husbands in enduring intergendered marriages yet with a history of same-sex attraction or monogendered relationships, considered able spokesmen for gender effects, confirmed the power of intimacy to forge a lasting marriage. Wives' gender distinction correlated with intimacy, expressed through authority deferral, home care and strong helping. The overall research goal was to heighten an understanding of the person and work of the Holy Spirit and motivate participants to minister in the power of the Spirit specifically healing. The study consisted of a packet of two books by revivalist Randy Clark given to participants with a pre and post read questionnaire. The results showed a trend toward a high self evaluation of the theology of the Holy Spirit but in actual praxis, very low numeric values in terms of quantifiable praxis. Open-ended interviews were conducted with five people with diverse grief experiences from the Protestant Evangelical, specifically Baptist, faith tradition. The results of the study found that most people depended on family and close friends as their primary source of support.  Some felt supported by their church, but most felt church members were uncomfortable with discussions about their grief. It surveys the faith stories of seven evangelical leaders and their sons from the mid-twentieth century to the present. It also surveys the canon of scripture to see how the baton of faith is passed or not passed from fathers to sons. Using an author-developed questionaire, the seven case studies were evaluated in the areas of conversion experience, subsequent challenges to faith, and relationship between fathers and sons. In addition this research examines father/son relationships through the entire canon of scripture. The research highlights these points: (a) Many conservative evangelical women live within a male-preferred cultural context that defines them through a model of goodness and inequality. (b) Historically, some of these women have sought an identity beyond home and family. (c) In response to the feminist movement, many conservative evangelical churches grounded women's identity in the home, family, and church. (d) The church's response created an ongoing theological debate about women's roles that negatively affects women. The biblical research defines female personhood through the doctrine of the imago Dei and explores its meaning for women today by relating the imago Dei with the doctrine of Christology. Several of Paul's scriptural passages with regard to women are also interpreted through these two doctrines. Finally, the research findings confirm that some conservative evangelical Christian women report a depressive mood and that there are various reasons why. The researcher selected these two case studies because they demonstrated a determination to evangelize their communities with the gospel. This passion manifested into a desire to minister to more people through a new worship service. The research format was both qualitative and quantitative in nature as the researcher used quantitative surveys, open-ended questions, personal interviews, church campus visits, and archival data analysis to develop a deeper understanding of the planning process. This researcher believed two factors contributed to a successful launch of a new worship service: clear, consistent communication by leadership and unity in the leadership team.  Research concluded this hypothesis was true. This researcher believes missionally-minded, evangelical churches often lead the way by breaking free of ineffective methods, reinventing the way ministry is done. The objective was to develop a deeper personal relationship with God and one another by becoming more attentive to God. The team was guided through one action research cycle using the spiritual practices of silence and solitude, reflection and journaling, prayer and Lectio Divina for twenty weeks. Data was gathered through written narratives and group interviews and analyzed by qualitative methods. The research indicated that through intentional fostering of individual intimacy with God, an ardent team emerged to corporately provide more discerning spiritual leadership.
