Surveys of the congregations reveal that personal friendship is the best way to communicate and that printed materials--tracts and books--are the most useful evangelistic media. These Bangkok churches overcome hindrances in communicating difficult concepts by illustrating them with personal testimonies. These churches teach members to evangelize by training them one-on-one in telephone and house visitations. Previous SDA evangelism in Jamaica has successfully reached poor and working people, but it has been ineffective in contacting and attracting the upper classes. The project suggests that 'intentional ministries'--any social ministry, instrument, or program designed to make a deliberate impact within the local community--can be used to contact upper-class people and make personal evangelism possible. This project investigates the effectiveness of existing evangelism models and seeks to discern and develop new models for reaching Generation X. Employing varieties of demographic data, the project conducts small groups, surveys, target groups and seminars over seven months. The church needs symbolic forms capable of reaching functionally illiterate adults. A Christian education curriculum must develop reading and writing skills of the population in their surroundings.  Christian education should include Laubach method and Literary and Evangelism International programs for a holistic evangelization.
