The research method involved studying the background of early childhood education; how preschoolers learn; how they learn religion; and a survey of a preschool in Yardley, Pa. Radical evangelism is an attempt to recapture a biblical approach to Christian outreach.  It is 'radical' in the sense of 'basic.'  Part 1 examines three representative biblical passages to provide an exegetical basis for the concept.  Part 2 describes the relationship between evangelism and the three biblical forms of 'family.'  The conclusion is that to produce the environment in which evangelism may take place the church must recognize and work within these three forms of the family. This presents a tremendous challenge and opportunity for the church in general, and for the African-American and Hispanic church in the Washington Metropolitan context in particular, to be involved in cross-cultural evangelism.  This project presupposes that cross-cultural evangelism will enhance positive social interaction between the two communities while highlighting the universality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Great Commission is our mandate to evangelize cross-culturally. In doing so it will challenge social and political structures that create and tolerate poverty, civil strife, racism, sexism, and nationalistic egoism.  The research model was in the form of a case study and survey.  A questionnaire was disseminated to two local congregations in the Washington, DC area, one Hispanic and one African-American. The resulting data was analyzed to identify the present attitudes of both groups. Theologically supported, the model used education, communication, and social psychology disciplines. Classes, discussions, and social activities over five months formed the model. Caucasian church members, ethnic adherents, and unchurched ethnics of the local community participated.  It was effective for increasing ethnic growth in the church. Increased cultural knowledge and understanding motivated Caucas to ethnic outreach. The success of the project is attributed to the faithful and obedient leadership of key leaders who served as trainers.  The project has enhanced and expanded the evangelism ministry of the church. The participatory group and the control group answered a specially prepared inventory, the Small Group Evangelism Scale, before and after the training class.
