Dialogical counseling and guided meditation are its major methodological divisions. The meditation component leads the client's psyche into a Christian religious state by following the intensified faithing schema. The schema is comprised of archetypal imagery and Christian belief statements which activate the client's affectively charged cognitive faithing structures. Creative growth symbols and crisis intervention procedures restructure preconscious negative mental-emotional-spiritual concepts which then tend to become behaviorally concrete. The thesis is: Faithing is the psyche's primary operation. Faithing therapy rests upon academic research, and is validated by thirty years of observation in parish and clinical practice."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720653694173184,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:09:24.134Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:07:58Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:11:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9cdf4cc6-1800-4ad0-846f-bf14228c2ae6","accessControl_ssim":["2e6e8c4d-80d1-456d-941b-d3ac8bfa698f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The importance of kerygmatic preaching in the local church's evangelism"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:07:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:43:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8ab07046-84bd-4b8f-9213-6fe264abbbff"],"hasLease_ssim":["c369a571-1339-4123-ba99-f6c953546d31"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Zan W Holmes"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Joseph S Ajayi"],"keyword_tesim":["Tests and measurements in religion"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Preaching--Study and teaching","Experience (Religion)","Preaching, Evangelical"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project was to test the relevance and significance of evangelistic preaching among the United Methodist Men who had expressed a need for the experience of the gospel's power for effective Christianity. The need was addressed through Bible study, fellowship, six evangelistic worship and preaching services, congregational response and evaluation, the response of a working committee of six persons, evaluation and critical reflection with the preacher. The content of the messages preached emphasized the non-negotiable essentials of the Christian message as the kerygma for the context. The thesis of the project was that kerygmatic preaching plays a central role in the local church's ministry of leading people to the experiential relationship with God in Christ by the Holy Spirit. The men's responses, decisions and demands for such preaching on Sunday morning showed the necessity for such preaching. The kerygmatic preaching that is the power of God unto salvation is content rather than method oriented."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720814901198848,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:11:57.873Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:16:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:10:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f189aa4b-58b5-406f-bbe6-061804b0f24c","accessControl_ssim":["f012ff12-ca69-4187-8bfe-0d2640b2ba6d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A ministry of atonement in prison: with specific implications for the chaplains' treatment of prisoners"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:16:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:01:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["edcc9d22-574a-49c5-9a3a-25e8e76e1393"],"hasLease_ssim":["d6c38656-b01e-4dd0-af94-c1f36063e296"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Glenn E Whitlock"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Fernando Fred Venecia"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Prison chaplains","Atonement","Responsibility","Prodigal son (Parable)","Christianity","Experience (Religion)","Glasser, William, 1925-2013"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This investigation is based on the need for a viable approach to a ministry of atonement in prison that emphasizes human responsibility in the transformation of negative experiences into agents of atonement.
