It suggests a structured network of covenant family group ministry in a church to build up and enrich Christian families for faith development. Research data consisted of twelve interviews with women who were asked to describe themselves, their relationships, and their faith. To test the thesis a class of six sessions was taught which focused on the universal priesthood as well as vocation, affirmation of gifts, spiritual disciplines and the mutual consolation and conversation of the saints.  In conclusion, the changed historical context of today, as well as apathy, ignorance, and limited endorsement by clergy limit the thesis. A pilot study involving church board members was designed.  A spiritual formation inventory was administered to gain the subjects self-perceptions of their spiritual formation needs.  Based upon the inventory results, a series of educational exercises was developed and taught to the board members. The board members indicated in their postinstruction responses increased desire and intention to pursue systematic spiritual development. The thesis was that people can be taught and trained how to pray and as a result experience growth in Christ.  The methodology focused first on the pastor: his study of prayer, practice of prayer, recruiting, teaching, and training prayer group leaders. He scripted prayer concerts and reflected on them.  He also gave inventories to the participants. The group explored ways in which the canonical text and its claims confront, interpret, and reshape the individual stories of contemporary believers.  The works of Frederiick Buechner provided perspective, commentary, and a medium of exchange between the biblical world and the world of contemporary listeners. The project's purpose was to examine how Christian faith is affected by human experience.  A typology of human experience was developed. The typology consisted of four types of human experiences: 1) human development; 2) human relationship; 3) transpersonal experience; 4) transformational experience. Participants' responses to various questions and exercises are analyzed as to their meaning in regard to faith.
