The project was designed to teach parents some basic principles of Christian nurture, from a Wesleyan, theological perspective, informed by developmental theory. The child-rearing motifs of John Wesley were taught within the structural-developmental framework of James W Fowler's faith development theory, to inform parents of some of the theological and psychological factors necessary for a more informed nurture of Christian faith in their children. The project was carried out through a series of seminars conducted at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The purpose of this study was to create and evaluate a Wesleyan Faith Development Model that marries Fowler's stages of faith with Wesley's means of grace.  Two curricula were tested along with a process control group over a twelve-week period.  Two instruments were used:  one quantitative pre- and post-test inventory and one qualitative exit interview.  Participants came away from the study more aware of God's grace that is made accessible through Jesus Christ and how that grace is received relationally, in the community of faith. The study closes with suggestions for effective implementation with new Christians or seekers. College chaplains seek to understand these students and their faith and help students nourish their faith.  College chaplains often assume, and perhaps rightfully so, that students want to participate in Bible studies, worship and reflection groups, and service projects.  Yet, sometimes both students and chaplains are unsure of what faith is and how it can be nourished.  This project seeks to help college chaplains serving small, private, liberal arts, church-related colleges in answering these questions.  Chapter 1, 'Faith and Faith Development,' offers a definition of faith, discusses faith development and nourishment.  Chapter 2, 'The Action/Reflection Group,' reports on a small group of students who gathered to discuss faith. Chapter 3, 'A Chaplain's Response,' interprets the findings of this group and relates them to the faith development model used in Chapter 1. Five small group experiences were researched over a two-month period: guided imagery, lectio divina, covenant discipleship, praying the office, and a service group. Dr. Newton Malony's 'Religious Status Inventory' was used to measure the participants' faith maturity levels before and after their group participation.
