In searching for concrete programming, she considered direction from the Hebrew Prophets, Jesus' words and life, John Wesley's writings and the material provided by Ruby Payne and her publishing company supporting Bridges out of poverty. Thirty-four participants from Greater Gethsemane Missionary baptist Church responded to a qualitative and quantitative questionnaire measuring aspects of self-image. The results revealed that absent/distant fathering influenced their self-care and self-giving.
