The author designed and implemented a course for leadership training, teaching the concepts developed by the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF).  The project is set in the context of the history of organization development and congregational development.  The systems theories of Senge and Friedman are discussed.  These concepts are related to scriptural examples and theological and moral principles. Generation to Generation by Edwin Friedman is an important family systems resource for the study.  Instruments produced by XICOM facilitated leadership assessment.  On their genograms the participants indicated family themes, emotions, traumas, triangles, and leadership characteristics over three generations.  The four instruments aided the participants to identify leadership resources in their genograms and family systems.
