They are classified as Supernumerary (SN) ministers. In a pastoral setting where the congregation is small and people resources are limited, the pastor and congregation benefit from ministries developed and implemented by Supernumerary ministers. The director researched available resources on spiritual gifts to develop a training curriculum consisting of six equipping sessions.  Participants learned about the biblical principles of spiritual gifts as well as current ministry opportunities in their church.  The director measured the project's effectiveness through the commitment of participants, group dialogue and assessment, and personal reflection. It was developed by Pastor Malaku Mekuria for the members of this church, so as to be effective and fruitful members of the body of Christ as they ministry in the church. Nine people from Maranatha Fellowship were trained for seven weeks in the subject of the discovery of spiritual gifts.
