The program is broken into three distict components: 1) preaching; 2) teaching; and 3) testing.  The project requires a complete month of active participation by the fellowship.  The report presents as well a foundation from which to approach spiritual gifts.  Fundamentally, the report expresses a broader definition of spiritual gifts so as to include all of God's gifts.  These gifts are expressed in terms of creation, humanity, salvation, and history.  In order to achieve the above, the report also includes a section that details a particular understanding of the gifts given in history. Participants were given the opportunity to discover their spiritual gifts by use of the 'Wagner Modified Houts Questionnaire'. Many varied resources for gifts clarification are identified and analyzed.  Ministries are defined as services which are rendered by all members of the church, lay and clergy, within and outside the church's gathered life.  The study outlines the efforts of a gifts discovery project in a local congregation.  The work of the planning team, an evaluation of their work, and an evaluation of the project are included.  The essential elements of a ministry of gifts discovery are identified. Once the research phase was completed, the materials were assembled into a seminar format.  The principles of adult education were followed and the project was field tested in a local congregation. This hypothesis was investigated using a group of eleven lay leaders who are responsible for the management of church committees and organizations.  The project group identified their spiritual gifts and their normal leadership styles.  The author conducted objective and subjective tests of the group's leadership performance level before and after the project.  He used the descriptive survey method to analyze and evaluate the group's performance.  The project group's leadership performance of eight normal leadership tasks increased 12 percent due to the training.  Objective application of new leadership skills also increased the participants' efficiency.
