Galatians"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project examines the translation debate over the seven occurrences of pistis Christou in Paul's letters. It seeks to answer this question through a simple, exegetical inquiry into the meaning of pistis in Romans 3-4 and Galatians 2-3. Pistis is examined because its meaning is the heart of the debate. By looking at Paul's use of pistis in the surrounding context ofsix of the seven occurrences of pistis Christou, this project expands the evidence for a proper translation. It begins with a critical assessment of the approaches of O. Hobard Mowrer and Jay E. Adams and proceeds to the contemporary proclamation of grace in preaching as well as in counseling, and takes issue corporally with both writers' views of Freudian psychoanalysis.  The project seeks to integrate a responsible concept of a doctrine of justification with Freudian psychoanalysis.
