The researcher hypothesized that women in group therapy will heal more rapidly than those in individual counseling.  The results from therapy sessions held over a period of six months supported the researcher's hypothesis.  The researcher concluded that pastoral counseling with a focus on reframing techniques is more successful in group therapy. With these methods the project assists these women in discerning the influence of patriarchy on their personal and faith stories and offers them an opportunity to encounter Jesus through biblical stories interpreted from a feminist perspective. Peak religious experiences are considered in relation to spiritual formation of candidates. Implications are drawn and proposals made concerning developing and enhancing the Cursillo method in the three-day Cursillo retreat, follow-up programming, and spiritual direction.  The paper describes two workshops in which this information is shared with Cursillo leaders.
