In addition to serving their spiritual needs, the churches find themselves dealing with a wide array of social, economic and educational factors, faced by their parishioners. This project focuses on the role of education as a tool for addressing the social and spiritual needs of these first-generation immigrants. The project looks at selected accredited theological institutions and Hispanic-Latino community-based training programs.  It also gathers by questionnaire data from selected pastors, teachers, and students on ministry training for Hispanic-Latino church leaders.  As a result all three groups of respondents (pastors, teachers, and students) believe that academic training and a curriculum grounded in the culture and experiences of our people is very important for the task of leadership training.
