Discrimination against and maltreatment of Southeastern migrant workers in Korea have been serious social problems. This project researched the essential characteristics of the spirit of hospitality in the Bible through examining the Israelite as the 'ger,' the hospitality of Abraham and the maltreatment of Sodom, the hospitality of Jesus, and the hospitality of Paul. The author and his rural congregation offered five forms of art-based welcome to the community to test this thesis by informal interviews, observations, questionnaires and theological reflection.
