In addition, the author developed a questionnaire which was completed by 150 ministers, who served in Chinese house churches. The author also conducted in-dept interviews with 3 senior theological educators to have them share their teaching expectations on theological education. To furnish a biblical foundation, the project follows the movement of the first century church from the temple to the house described in the Lukan narrative. Twelve elements of apostolic mission from Luke 10-11 are incorporated into a church-planting model that connects with the households of our day - pre-existing relational networks of people meeting in third places. This biblical model reproduces organically, without depending on a church building, hierarchical structures or paid clergy. It presumes a profound reorientation of ecclesiology around the missio Dei so that mission shapes structure.
