Chapter 4 introduces the concepts of the twenty-first century church and small group, investigates and interprets Filipino small groups, and integrates the content of New Testament church practices with contemporary small group theology. Chapter 5 presents the results on the New Testament house churches and their implications for Filipino small groups. However, ineffective models that currently serve God's people are dangerous. the case study of Charis Worship Center Ministries specifically demonstrates the unique use of the House Church concept in the formation of this ministry. This model must closely matches that of Jesus Christ's ekklesia. The project focused on one existing small group sponsored by a traditional campus-based church in south Denver.  The project proved unsuccessful.  In the end, the group opted not to change its focus and format. Since then Christians have debated just how he intended to have it built.  Although the debate has ranged widely, this project concentrates on where the church should meet, emphasizing the role of house churches today. Does the Bible mandate house churches as Christ's intended design for the church? This project examines theological, biblical, historical, and practical arguments for house churches as  the only right way to be the church, placing them in the contexts of doctrine and culture.
