Project"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brooks-Johnson, Aisha Kamara"],"subject_tesim":["Women clergy","Liberation theology","Storytelling","Spiritual direction","Image of God"],"abstract_tesim":["This Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR) project explores group spiritual direction as a catalyst for clergy to process the traumas and triumphs of the COVID-19 era and its aftermath. Through story sharing, holy listening, and Lectio and Visio Divina, this group setting allows clergy to deepen self-compassion. The project contends that these contemplative practices foster self-compassion as a lifelong discipline. This project responds to the spiritual and bodily harm of colonialism, capitalism, and white supremacy, which manifests as disembodiment, dualistic thinking, and perfectionism.
