The researcher presents a historical case study in which he examined biblical, theological and missiological foundations for indigenous church planting. He then presented the historical narrative of the Christian \u0026 Missionary Alliance work in Guinea from 1918 to 2005. ILDP was constructed on research findings of the Ten-year Church Development Project of the church, evaluation of the leadership, and knowledge learned through D.Min. course work. The program was offered in three-week retreats focusing on spiritual formation, discipleship and stewardship, and church administration. Pre and post-tests of the three sessions assessed the increase in knowledge and effectiveness of leadership. While we rejoice for this open door and the opportunity for the gospel, we also see the challenges in establishing the new believers in the biblical faith as wll as the development of leaders for the emerging churches. The challenge of developing leaders becomes more complex as many of them are oral learners. One of the ways to face the challenge is to use oral methods in training leaders. This thesis describs the opportunities and challenges in Bihar, India. It surveys mission history, particularly focused on the Bihar Reach-Out Network. It builds a biblical and theological foundation for consideration of orality. The task consists of four components.  First, to research and to formulate eight core biblical convictions that are essential for the task of expository preaching. Second, to research China and its culture, the Chinese mindset, and the house church movement. It also looks into the learning process of the rural people and the training resources in preaching. Third, to design a biblical preaching course targeting Chinese rural pastors who have a lower level of education. The training material is adapted from Dr. Haddon W. Robinson's step-by-step process as described in his book, Biblical Preaching. This paper studies the reasons for church-mission tensions and proposes general solutions leading to a specific strategy.  The author, in addition to library research, draws upon his own personal experience of 13 years in Zaire.  A new model for church-mission partnership, characterized by mutual responsibility and interdependence is suggested. Called 'project mode,' this new paradigm for participatory partnership was submitted to 23 mission organizations for their evaluation.
