The work of the church can become distracted by other standards. For the church to remain strong in the world it must be undergirded by the leadership lessons of Jesus. Using the Gospel of Mark as the theological basis for this study, the author shows that this spirit of intentionality is characteristic of Jesus as he conducts his ministry with a 'sense of urgency.'
